Raw Milk Recall

The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has issued a recall order after detecting Influenza-A H5N1 (bird flu) in raw milk. The samples were taken from a raw milk bulk tank at a dairy farm in Stanislaus County.
The CDFA is strongly recommending that you do not consume any of these products and that retailers remove any of these products from their store shelves. No illnesses related to bird flu have been reported at this time.
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health also issued a warning of not to consume raw milk products, or feed it to their pets. The agency announced that five pet cats recently died after consuming recalled raw milk.
The bird flu virus has been detected in 16 states. Of the 865 infected herds found, 645 of them were in California! It is no wonder that Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency.
Raw milk is very popular. Mark McAfee, who owns Raw Farm USA, says that production and supply in California are “growing at 50 percent a year.”
Pasteurized milk is safe to drink because pasteurization kills the bird flu virous and other harmful germs that can be found in milk. Sounds like we all might have to switch to pasteurized milk until they find a solution to this problem.
