Condo Association Chooses Fumigation Over Orange Oil and Foam

Termite Terry just finished up the fumigation for the Admiral Way Homeowners Association of Costa Mesa California. There are six buildings and a total of twenty units in this condo association.  Kirstin Emershaw, the association’s president, said that they were previously ready to hire another termite company to do an orange oil and foam treatment on these homes. However, once she and her fellow board members saw Termite Terry and his inspector, Josh Mentzer, do their demonstration, they changed their minds.

During the demonstration, the board members saw samples of wood that were treated by drilling and pressure injecting termite treatment products into the wood. Other wood members were treated with foam products. Both the product that was injected and the foam product had green dye added so that the board members could determine how well these products penetrated the wood. The board members saw that both the wood injection and foam treatments, showed very little penetration or coverage and came up far short of claims made by other termite companies.

Wall foaming was also demonstrated. These condos have insulated ceilings and walls and this demonstration showed how many termite companies perform these foam termite treatments. The board members were astonished when they saw that the foam applied during this demonstration had not even come close to contacting the wood members and had been all but absorbed by the insulation. They saw for themselves how termite treatments performed in this manner are completely ineffective.

They were now convinced that if they went ahead and hired this other company to do the orange oil and foaming treatments, that very little would be done to solve their termite problem. And, even after all of that great expense, their homes would still need to be fumigated.

Termite Terry shared that he completely understood how the board members about fumigation, but assured them that with his assistance, it would not be as big of a hassle as they imagined. The part that the board members seamed to really appreciate was when Termite Terry told them about his two year, money back guarantee. He told the board members that if they found a live colony of drywood termites in a building at any time during the two year guarantee, he would come back and re-fumigate the building at no charge and that he would refund all of their money, too! Termite Terry told them that he knows that if they do the job the right way and use plenty of Vikane gas, there’s no way that these buildings are going to have any termites after he gets done with them. The board members were also surprised to learn that the fumigation price was only slightly higher than the orange oil and foam treatment. A competitive price, coupled with an unbelievable guarantee made Termite Terry’s proposition very appealing.

The board members met privately after the demonstration. Kirsten, the board president, called the following morning to tell Termite Terry that he had been awarded the job.

All buildings were fumigated as scheduled and the whole process went off without a hitch.
