Don’t Miss This Unbelievable Letter From One Of Our Clients! No one could have said it better!

Termite Terry is always telling everyone of how important it is to nail down these termite inspectors when getting bids for termite fumigations. He cautions everyone that he is not exaggerating when he says that most termite reports and bids aren’t worth the paper they’re printed onIt’s worse than you can even imagine!  Today, one of our clients sat down and wrote this letter to explain her experiences with three other termite companies.

This client took our advice, asked the important questions needed and was astonished at what she heard. Take a look at what she wrote and please pay extra attention to the other three termite company’s lousy measurements for fumigation. It is really important to note that this home is actually 45,000 cubic feet. In fact, one of the other three companies sent one of their supervisors out to re-measure the property and he confirmed that it really was 45,000 cubic feet.

No, it was not somewhere between 28,000 to 30,000 cubic feet like the other three companies said and this is really a key point. If you don’t measure a house correctly and you don’t put in enough Vikane gas – You’re just wasting your time and money.

 Ladies and Gentlemen, here’s proof that you had better watch out when you’re collecting bids. All three of these bids came in at a lower price than our’s but they were all a complete rip-off because none of them were going to come even close to using enough gas to do the job;

Dear Joseph,

You did just as you stated.  You set the bar high!  I’d like to take this time to thank your for giving me a crash course in termites 101, and informing me of what to look for in selecting a termite control company; one that abides by the rules and regulations that are mandated by the Structural Pest Control Board.

Armed with just a bit of knowledge I was able to weed out the bids that were inaccurate, not detailed, did not show the cubic footage, and eliminate the companies that were more concern about a pay check than giving the customer quality service.

No one was as forthcoming with information regarding the laws and requirements associated with this industry.  No one took the time to disseminated information regarding termites and the process to eradicate them.  Thanks for informing me of my rights, and advising me of what to expect from a qualified and reputable termite company.

 I had 3 other bids from Termite Companies A, B, and C:

Termite Company A
Inspection June 14,2010

  • This inspector was not a seasoned inspector.  He was a young college graduate who has a degree in engineering and wasn’t able to find a job in his degree, so he took a job with Termite Co A.  He’s been an inspector for about a year.  I have nothing against his age, but with experience comes knowledge.
  • He did not use any measuring device to measure the cubic footage of my home.
  •  Just as you suggested, when it was time to explain the estimate, I did not see the cubic footage recorded on the  estimate.  Just as you suggested I asked for the cubic footage.  The inspector said the cubic footage was about 30M cubic feet. I asked him if he measured my home.  This moment was golden.  The look on his face gave him away.  He admitted that he did not measured my property.  He said that he could judge that it is about 30M cubic feet.  This is when he recorded the footage on the estimate.  He claimed he left his measuring device at home.  Although I appreciate his honesty, this is unacceptable!
  • Armed with the knowledge you gave me, I was able to discern:  How can he order enough gas to eradicate the termites if he doesn’t measure the cubic footage?  I would not know the importance of measuring for the correct cubic footage if you had not explained the reasons why it is imperative to obtain the correct cubic footage.
  • I asked about wood repair.  He said that he could refer me to a contractor that does their wood repair.
  • NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY I WANT TO HIRE TO DO MY FASCIA REPAIRS AND FUMIGATION

Termite Co B
Inspection June 15, 2010

  • He went up in my attic.  He showed me a drywood termite wing upon descending from the attic.
  • This inspector measured my property.  He measured my property at 28M cubic feet. This cubic footage was shown on the estimate.
  • I asked him if his company did the fumigation.  Just as you said, I was informed that they sub-contract the fumigation out to another company, but they do their own wood repair.
  • I asked if he would be on premise to supervise the fumigation to make sure the fumigation company does what they are supposed to do.  He informed me that he usually is not on site, that the fumigation company has a person that supervises their job.  He stated that if he was on site he would not be able to do his job, give inspections, as well as supervise fumigations, but if I wanted or requested he would be on site
  • The inspector informed me that they would not touch the patio cover to do any wood repair of damaged/rotted wood.  I want all the damaged wood to be replaced/repaired.
  • NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY I WANT TO HIRE TO DO MY TERMITE DAMAGE REPAIRS AND FUMIGATION!
Termite Company C
Inspection June 16, 2010

  • I asked the inspector if they did wood repair.  He informed me that they sub contract the wood repair to another company.  He said they sub contract the fumigation to a company that works for them.  The fumigation company’s truck will have its name on it, but the tarps will display the name of this termite company.
  • The inspector arrived at 9:15 AM and left my home at approximately 9:47 AM
  • I did not see the Inspector use any measuring device to measure the cubic footage of my home.  However, on the estimate it showed the cubic footage of my home as 29M cubic feet.
  • The inspector did not go up in my attic to inspect for termites.

In conclusion the three termite companies above all reported approximately the same cubic footage, all within a 1-2 cubic feet difference.  This is puzzling! (Note that Termite Terry estimated this house at 45M).

  •  I feel the above inspector’s reports were incomplete.
  • The above inspection reports were not as detailed and did not denote and itemized all the damage joe recorded on his inspection report.
  • The above inspectors did not disseminated as much information about termites and their eradication as Joe.
  • The above inspectors did not take as much time to inspect my home for termite damage as Joe.

All I am looking for is a company that is reputable, has integrity in the business, values me as a customer, does the job according to the guidelines and regulations set forth by the SPCB, will do the job right the first time, and will give me an accurate cubic footage measurement; resulting in an accurate and appropriate cost that correlates to the proper cubic footage.  It that too much to ask for?

Joe please call me. I have a few questions.  Let’s set up an appointment to start the wood repair. I need to go over the repairs again with you.  If you have time to come by my home early one morning to explain a few thing, I would greatly appreciate it.

 Sincerely,

 Veronica Pace , Lakewood, Calif.
