A mother’s two children and some family friends were swimming in the pool when the swarm of bees arrived in her backyard. The mother was inside the house when her oldest child yelled out, “Mommy, you need to come out here right now.” When the mother ran out, there were so many bees that she couldn’t see any blue.
While all of the kids ran to get inside the home for safety, the mother went to rescue their dog. The dog was covered with bees, so the mother picked up the dog and jumped into the pool.
After being stung about 50 times, the mother was taken to the hospital, along with two of her friend’s teenage daughters.
Later, the mother’s father came home, and he immediately took the dog to an animal urgent care. Sadly, the dog did not survive the attack.
Ladies and gentlemen, if you are ever attacked by a swarm of bees, run as fast as you can and find a safe place to shelter. Don’t waste time swatting at the bees because that will only anger them. It is also a good idea to try and cover your face with a towel, blanket, or by pulling your shirt up over your head. I know the mother in this story jumped into a pool, but experts don’t recommend that because the bees will often wait for you to come up for air.
Stay safe this summer, and keep a close watch on your surroundings. If you suspect a bee problem, get away from there as fast as you can, and call for help.
