A 95 year old man was walking near his home in Southern California when he was attacked by an angry swarm of bees. The man was stung by the bees over 400 times, but somehow managed to survive.
The local police said that an exterminator was trying to remove bees from a nearby apartment building. Apparently, the bees were disturbed by the exterminator’s work and that was what triggered the attack. The police believe the bees were Africanized Killer Bees.
The elderly man, whose name was not released, was discharged from the hospital without an overnight stay.
Termite Terry said, “Most men would have died after being stung that many times. That old man is a real tough guy!”
Termite Terry wants to remind everyone that killer bees look just like regular honeybees and there is no way to tell the difference unless you send them to a lab for testing. That is why you always need to be fully prepared and have all of your safety gear on before you start dealing with any bees. Terry’s specialists have dealt with killer bees on a number of occasions and they will all tell you that if you do disturb a hive of killer bees, your whole body will be covered with stinging bees within seconds. That is really scary!
